Have a good break, no mandatory homework is set, but if you’re hanging around a pool or beach and getting bored, you may like to consider that Algebra 1 students have a semester exam on the first Wednesday or Thursday back (the previous math period will be used for revision).  Algebra 1 students also have a Graphics Art project due on the 21/22 January.

Math 8 students have a Ch.2 re-test and  Ch.3 Test on the first Thursday back.

Hi all

All classes are having a quiz on Thursday or Friday - details are on the Important Dates page.

This week the Algebra classes are continuing (and almost finishing) Ch. 6.  The Math class is continuing with Chapter 3.

Both classes are finishing off testing their last chapter and starting the new one.  The G8 Algebra is pre-testing Chapter 6.  All classes are getting POW 5.

Remember that when we start a new chapter, I remove the lesson pages  for the old one, so if you need to access previous lessons you’d better do so quickly.

Sorry guys (yes, nowadays that includes gals too) - two days out of classes has set me behind a bit. I’ve now updated the lessons pages - remember that I only keep lessons on the particular chapter we are currently working on. For my G8 Algebra classes, the notes I put on the board are not actually typed up - for a computer dinosaur like me, all those diagrams would see me long dead before I could finish entering them!!

As most of you know from the glee on my face, one of my absent days was because we finally got our shipment from Korea - yes, all those hard POWs, but, more importantly, our kid’s toys and my clothes (don’t get too excited though, I’m basically a black or brown person). However, most of the boxes have yet to be unpacked and I have the CISSA soccer tournament on Saturday and so I probably won’t get those POW 4s marked - the Quizzes should be though.

Yes, I’ve finally given up on Edline (too slow) and forced myself to Blog.

You will find pages to go to the last lesson (and earlier, within the current chapter) - one page for my G8 Algebra classes and one for my G8 Math class. You might want to do this if you were absent, asleep, can’t read your own notes, or forgot to write down the homework.  [Actually I’m having a bit of trouble here - lessons keep on mixing and multiplying!  I’ll let you know when it’s fixed.]

The Important Dates page has when the next Quizzes and Tests are, as well as the due dates for the POWs.

The Learning Math page has a blow by blow description of the painless way to learn your math properly - banish those low marks forever!!
