Howdy Gang!   All powerpoint lectures and handouts will be located in my folders and the SAS server in the “HS Shared Files” folder as well as on this page in my blog. As we cover information in the course, I will keep these pages and folders up to date with links to the relevant resources.  You would be very wise to incorporate these items in to your own sets of notes.  Some of the presentations will only be viewable through Slideshare and other internet resources (all copyrights have been acknowledged and adhered to), so you will not be able to download these but you will be able to bookmark their URL’s and access them when needed.  Please keep in mind that successful collegiate students never rely on instructor notes alone.  You will be wise to take very good notes of your own and incorporate them with the abreviated notes I have provided you here.  Please see me if you have any questions at all.

The Soil Lab above is a great lab for collecting, processing and presenting data.  We will also start to apply basic statistical analyses to our data!  The below is a good link for a tutorial on how to use your Excel to accomplish some basic stats:

Your summer assignment is pretty straightforward.  You are to complete the readings (See handout given in class as well as the Shared Files folder on the server) as well as the Topic 4 Summary Outline (See below and the packet given in class).  You will be assessed on the content of the syllabus as well as the readings (as they relate to the syllabus).  This is not an overwhelming amount of work but your assessment will be substantial upon return next fall.  Have a GREAT summer!
