Comma, “what”?

Posted by: jsmall | August 27, 2008 | No Comment |

Hey there,

Since I have been reading the students’ journals I have been struck by that ever present danger, “the comma”. Always the downfall of even the most capable writers, the comma is often considered the most difficult element of writing to use properly. So, today we had a little talk and exercised our brains in hopes of gaining some control over that little nuisance of a pen flick.

I have included links (below) to some webpages where the comma is explained in both video and written formats. Also some practice pages to work on.

My hope is that we can get some control, confidence, and even mastery of the usage of this slippery aspect of writing.
