It looks like this could be the last problem of the week this year as all school blogs are being shut down for maintenance next week. Keep checking back…we might just be able to squeeze in one more.

Last weeks problem was a bit tricky but Grace, Manal and Anita did a great job of getting very, very close…just 2 cents off. The correct answer was $181.42.

The Question 

Batman must solve the following problem to escape the Riddler. The mid-points of the sides of a square are joined as shown. A fraction of the original square is shaded. What is the fraction? Can you help him?
