This week in our current edition of Scholastic Magazine, the main article was about how global warming affects the habitats of the animals who live at the North Pole. So today while awaiting our turn to perform at the Winter Assembly, students got to watch, “Arctic Tale”. This is a documentary film tracking the lives of three Arctic animals from infancy to adulthood, narrated by Queen Latifa. Students are going to be commenting on their reactions to the film tomorrow in class. They were asked to visit green.nationalgeographic.com website to check out ideas on how to fight global warming and help the world’s declining environmental conditions.

I’m so glad you are helping the students become more aware of the serious global environmental issues we are facing. I just read Thomas Friedman’s ‘Hot, Flat and Crowded’ and it was a major eye-opener. Kinda scary with some hopeful case studies. The more we talk about it, hopefully the more we start doing something. Keep up the great work Grade 4!
