Middle School Announcements November 20th, 2009 Day 1
Attention all 7th and 8th grade Students – Weekend of Amnesty
Recently we have found that some students are in violation of the school’s Acceptable Use Policy. We are offering all 7th and 8th grade students a weekend of amnesty. This means that you are going to be given this weekend and this weekend only to bring your machine back within compliance of the Acceptable Use Policy.
You must delete anything off of your computer that violates the Acceptable Use Policy. This includes but is not limited to:
Violent Games (for example Halo and Call of Duty) Explicit Music and or Videos (look for the red explicit label in your iTunes) Bootcamp Other non-authorized Software (for example Vuze, Miro, Limewire anything P2P-Peer to Peer)
Random checks will continue to be carried out. If any of the above is found on a computer, the student will be in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy and the computer will be wiped and re-imaged.
Take advantage of your Weekend of Amnesty!

The following MS swimmers will be attending an international swim meet in Taipei. The bus will be leaving today for Pudong airport at 12:30. It would be greatly appreciated you could be so kind to release the swimmers at 12:15 so they have time to get to their lockers for their luggage, passport, etc. Thanking you in advance.
Do you like animals? Do you like dessert? They may seem like a strange combination, but this is one of those times when you truly can ‘have your cake and eat it too’! The High School Animal Rescue and Support club is holding its first fundraiser in the middle school to raise funds for JAR (Jaiya’s Animal Rescue), a local non-profit agency dedicated to helping rescue and adopt out stray dogs and cats around Shanghai. Next Thursday, Nov 26th, we’ll be holding a Cake Walk in the MS — there will be over 20 amazing cakes to choose from — including animal themes and more serious desserts. All YOU have to do is buy your raffle tickets (in advance or on the day of) and put them in the box in front of the cake (or CAKES) of your choice! In order to do so, you get to literally walk through a maze of cakes to view them. Tickets are on sale all next week at each MS lunch (5 kuai for one ticket, 20 kuai for 5, and a special deal – 100 kuai for 40. Share with your friends or keep them all to yourself!) Remember, the Cake Walk itself will take place Thursday Nov 26th. Winners will be announced during Advisory and you can take home your cake in time for Thanksgiving! So bring in your money next week and please help us help the animals!
