Kung Fu
Posted by wpantoja on November 4, 2008
The first action point listed in pursuit of the SAS vision for 2012 is to maximize the benefits of the cultural and linguistic learning experiences in China. The student expectations further require that students exhibit an understanding and appreciation of Chinese language and culture. In an effort to embrace our schools philosophy, Kung Fu continues for the second year in the middle school Physical Education department in Pudong.
Here's your review for our kung fu test! Practice regularly. We test at our next meeting. Retest and auditions for the Chinese New Year performance will be held in December so get ready and stay ready. Good luck!
We start with a video with Mr Xu and the grade 6 class that includes all the HA!s and HU!s and yi er san!s. Also, there are two videos at the end. One slow, and one fast... Enjoy!!

Hi,
Um…the kung fu video stops in the middle, so I don’t know what’s next. Also, some of the pictures don’t show up.

Hi Conway! Thanks for checking out the site. I’m sorry your having difficulties accessing the information. It seems to be working fine from here, so try another location. If that’s not an option for you, all of the videos are available on the SAS portal. You can store them on a USB from here, or email them to yourself. I hope one of these suggestions work for you.

Yoo Jeong, you’re right the video on this site was the routine that Mr. Pantoja and Mr. Zigmand’s classes learned. You need to go to my blog at the following address: http://teachers.saschina.org/kpoulin Thanks for checking the blog to practice.

I’ve been trying to practice the kung fu for a few days and the video is making it real hard! The angle that the vide took place is horrible for practiing because you have to figure out the right way which makes it real confusing! for heaven’s sake! I am gonna take a hour before I an complete this kungfu steps even though I practied a few days! (Although Imessed up all of them…)K

Seokhoon,
This routine is indeed far from easy and was never intended to be. One way to simplify the routine is to break it down into increments of five moves at a time. Learn the first five, then the next, then the next, and on and on until you know the whole thing. With time, diligence, and practice, you’ll have it down! Good Luck!!
