About Your Teachers
Wes Pantoja
Wes PantojaHello!!My name is Wes Pantoja. Through my classroom I hope to provide opportunity to make the world a better place. 'How is it possible', you may ask, 'with a rugby ball or a ping pong paddle, to attain such a lofty goal?' The same way all lofty goals are achieved, taking full advantage of every opportunity to take one small step at a time.In our time together, we examine our own values and how they shape our character as well as guide the decisions we make, and ultimately shape who we choose to be. We learn how to how to respect ourselves and others, how to add value by contributing as a member of a team, and how to visualize a dream and work towards making it a reality."Watch your thoughts, they become your words. Watch your words, they become your actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits. Watch your habits, they become your character, watch your character, it becomes your destiny." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Julian Thornbury
Hi! I'm Julian Thornbury. I'm teaching Middle School Physical Education and Health. I was born and raised in Canada and have been teaching here at SAS for two years. I graduated with a PHE Honours Degree at the University of Toronto and earned my teaching degree at the University of Wollongong, Australia. I have always been heavily involved with sport throughout my life; competing in soccer, basketball, tennis, softball, Canadian football, Australian Rules Football and the Decathlon. I have represented my country and always dreamed of being an Olympian. I have learned more about myself through sport than I have from any textbook. This is why I'm a strong advocate for lifelong participation in sport and physical activity.
