House Sports
House Assembly
The Elementary and Middle School House Assembly last Friday helped kick off another year of House activities. New students and new teachers were all given a home...well, a "house" actually. Over 800 students and 50 staff members piled into the Middle School Gym for what was a loud and spirited affair.
Spirit Walk
On Monday, September 22nd, students from Pre-K3 to Grade 8 participated in the "Spirit Walk" which gave each house a chance to show how much spirit they really had. The prestigious designation of "The House With the Most Spirit" is signified by the "Spirit Eagle" wearing the shirt of the wining house. Last year's winner (the Dolphins) had to give way to this year's winner (the Falcons), who showed a tremendous amount of spirit for the duration of the walk. The Pumas gave the Falcons a run for their money for the spirit award, but it the end, the Falcons squeaked through and were awarded the "Spirit Eagle." The Falcons will have a year until they have to defend their title.
House Sports @ Lunch
Monday also marked the beginning of the House Sports @ Lunch program for the Middle School. It is an intramural program which allows students to compete for their house in various sports throughout the year. The first such activity is soccer. You can earn a point for your house if you show up and play. It's just that easy!! So, once you have finished eating your lunch, join Mr. Thornbury or Mr. Zigmand outside for a fun and competitive game of soccer with your friends.
Keep your eyes peeled for points updates on the House Board which is located beside the CISSA board near the elementary office.
