Developing good study HABITS!
The students have been learning that doing their homework reaps rewards and consequences if not completed. Every Friday (mostly) we will reward the students that completed and turned in their homework with twenty minutes of free activities. They may practice computer skills or games, do arts and crafts, go outside for organized games, or read. In the next few weeks it will be helpful to reinforce homework times, putting homework back in their backpack and having a designated spot for their backpack. Learning good habits in the beginning of the school year will follow them throughout the year.
In the following weeks these are the subjects and skills we will be working on.
Math-
We will be doing timed tests for multiplication. We will also be starting unit one and will be learning how to name and construct geometric figures. Your child will be learning to define the difference between angles, lines, and rays.

Dear Ms. Frazier,
The book Celine and I are reading is called Flying Solo. The genre is realistic fiction. I read this book before and it is sad but it has a happy ending. In this book a boy died and Rachel couldn’t speak because of the shock she had. I think the main character is Rachel, the girl that couldn’t speak. But in every chapter, another person is the narrator.
Your student,
Jody
