Here are some photos of the school in Brooklyn that I attended PS503 School of Discovery during the Coaches Institute in Reading.
It is a school of nearly 1,000 students from K-5, with more than half of the students being English Language Learners and 95 percent on the Free-Lunch program. It was a great school with many amazing learning opportunities for both the students and me!
Thank you to PS 503 for hosting me for the week and to Sally from funwithreadingandwriting.blogspot.com for her photos

Sarah – I hope that staff have a chance to hear about your time in New York & that you get to share your learning with us.
The photos of the RW & WW ideas from PS 503 are great – a picture is worth a thousand words. I especially like the extended
daily schedule with teaching points – that’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Kathy
I am lucky enough to be sharing ideas at each grade level meeting. I already forced Sacha and Jason to have an extra meeting with me because I needed to start sharing ideas. Knowledge grows knowledge!!
Sarah
So glad you had such a fantastic time! It’s fantastic that you have so many new ideas that you are bursting to share with everyone.

Can’t wait to hear more!
