Benchmarks that a teacher has successfully met this standard:

- This standard is one that is difficult to show with words and pictures, rather it is something you see and feel when you walk into my class. I adhere to professional ethical standards through a variety of ways. I sing songs in my class about respect, and recycling. We have a recycle paper box in our room to be globally aware. We read books such as For Every Child a Better World. I email parents as needed with compassion and respect. I respect the students in my class and expect them to treat me and their peers with respect also.

Fosters effective communication

Standard C3: (2008-09)
Fosters positive relationships within the learning community
Benchmarks that a teacher has successfully met this standard:
1. Cultivates a professional working relationship with colleagues.
- Our team works together every week to plan teaching, and assessments
- Jobs are shared between each team member
- Emails from teacher-teacher/counselor/A.S.
2. Establishes and maintains relationships with parents and students to support student growth and development.
- Meetings with room parents
- Work with buddy class to develop relationships within class levels
3. Demonstrates dedication in their care and commitment to students.
- E-mails communication with parents re: students growth
- Parent/Teacher conferences
4. Support SAS vision, mission, core values, and EAGLES.

Standard C4: (2008-09)

1. Participates in community events, student activities and/or school improvement initiatives.
- Organize community events: used clothing drive for local charities, used toy drive for local school children.
- Field trip to local school to encourage community relationships

Standard C5:(2009-10)
