Online Typing Practice

Posted by tdenton on December 3, 2008

In 4th grade, students begin to use the computer on a regular basis. As a result, students have to type a lot. In 5th grade they have to type even more. In fact, as the students progress through school, the demands will only become greater. This is a major reason why it is important that kids learn to type quickly and properly. Until I was in high school, I had to pay my little brother to type my papers for me. Let’s hope that doesn’t have to be the reality of students in 4TD.

Unfortunately, one of the challenges is that there is so much for kids to learn, especially with technology, that typing gets put on the back burner. To help with this problem, I did a quick internet search and found a variety of wonderful typing tutorials. Most of these websites offer games and lessons and all of them are free. Take a look at all the choices listed below. If kids are going to be online playing games, they might as well learn important skills while they are at it.

    Hey there Mr. Denton-

Here’s another site called The Keyboard Playground with a great collection of typing games you may want to consider adding to your list of resources.
